Astrology is a science of prediction, a science of tendencies and is as important as other sciences like physics or chemistry. Lot of experiments have been made by different astronomers for ages and ultimately reached a conclusion that stars play a vital role and influence all objects on the Earth and mankind is more affected than others to know within our subject.

So far the Hindu Astrology is concerned, it is a branch of Veda (Vedanga). An Astrologer or Pundit is given proper directions therein how to measure the influence of the stars on different regions, water and human beings and the related events to life and its environments.

Astrology is like a vast and deep ocean and it is not possible to complete the study even in one life, it took generations’ research to reach the present stage of Astrology, which is now far improved in accuracy. This science is divided into different branches and Astrology is particularly based on 12 Zodiac Signs and 27 standard constellations (nakshatras) and 108 steps. This system helps the Astrologer to predict the influence of stars on a particular subject, whatever area, region, environment, peace or war. This system further enables the astrologer to predict the possible future events of human beings, by calculating effect on his/her date, time and place of birth. So much so not only his or her characteristics; but also diseases can be forecast along with relevant and important events, on the principle of Sarjatak given on the next lesson.
